Latest News! Najeeb Jung resigns as LG of Delhi

On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi – Najeeb Jung submitted his resignation to the Central Government. A statement from his office said that he will return to his first love academics.

Najeeb Jung thanked the prime minister for the – help and cooperation he received during his tenure as the 20th lieutenant governor of the Delhi. Najeeb Jung was sworn in on 9th July, 2013.

Najeeb Jung also thanked Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP Supremo –  Arvind Kejriwal for his association in the last two years.

Najeeb Jung resigned before the 18 month before as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

His suddenly resign from the post of LG surprised many and was seen in the context of his clashes with Mr Kejriwal.

In a statement, Mr Jung thanked “the people of Delhi for all their support and affection, especially during the one year’s President Rule in Delhi.

He also thanked Mr Kejriwal, who accused him of acting as the agent of  Central government.

On the resignation of the Najeeb Jung, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas commented that Mr Jung probably was controlled elsewhere and that he had no choice in the way he navigated a hostile relationship with the elected government in Delhi.
Mr Jung is a former bureaucrat and Vice Chancellor of the Jamia Millia Islamia University.
