Seems like history wants to repeat itself, as on the extremely promising and famous Canadian lottery game, “Lotto Max Jackpot” recorded another unclaimed jackpot this time. On 15th June 2021, that is, on Tuesday draw night, the $70 million jackpot recorded zero winning tickets, however, out of the 64 Maximillion prizes worth $1 million each, 42 were won. Lotto Max draw is held every Tuesday and Friday in which the players are required to draw seven numbers from a set of 50. The drawing features the main jackpot worth fo $70 million and along with there are Maxmillions prizes worth $1 million each.
A single set costs around $5 dollar, while each set itself contains two additional quickdraws. The part of Maxmillion prizes is that they are carried over until they are won and as a matter of fact, additional prizes are also added for each week the main jackpot is not won for at least $50 million worth. Meanwhile, in case the main jackpot is won and the Maximillions prizes are unclaimed, they are placed in the main jackpot.
Another interesting fact about this Canadian lottery game is that the winner of the same is entitled to claim their prize in a lump sum tax-free amount. The game was first introduced in Canada on 19th September 2009 and since then the popularity of this game has increased day by day. Back in December 2019, the Lotto Max Jackpot went with no winning tickets too and now, this is time again the jackpot went without a winner.
However, in term of Maximillions prizes, the drawing on 15th June 2021, surpassed the record of October 2018, as this time a total of 64 Maximillion prizes were featured by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation, the worth of which is somewhat around $134 million in prizes. The majority of the winner of the Maximillion prizes were from Ontario and a total of 20 winning tickets were recorded.
Meanwhile, 8 winners have been recorded from Quebec and British Columbia each, 5 winning tickets from Prairies, while 1 winning ticket is recorded from the Atlantic provinces. As previously discussed, the Lotto Max Jackpot draws takes place every Tuesday and Friday, which means that the next draw of Lotto Max will be held on 18th Juen 2021, that is, on Friday. It has been reported that the main lottery prize’s estimated worth will remain at $70 million while the Maxmillion prize has been increased to 70 worth $1 million each.
