In a shocking news that the missing image of Mahatma Gandhi from the new Rs 2,000 notes created a lot of confusion in Sheopur District, Madhya Pradesh.
According to the media reports that two elderly farmers –Gurmeet Singh from Kadukhera village and Laxman Meena from village Bichhugawdi – were being handed the new Rs. 2000 notes at State Bank of India branch.
Both the farmers were shocked when they came to know that the customary image of Mahatma Gandhi was missing from the new notes of Rs. 2000/-.
After knowing this, both the farmers immediately rushed to the bank branch and reported the matter to the branch manager who later confirmed that the notes were genuine, but it was a case of printing error.
According to the reports of media that the bank officers quietly accepted the Rs. 2000 notes but did not offer new notes.
