Major fire broke out in 2 places in Delhi – Gaffar Market & Okhla Sabzi mandi

New Delhi: Two major fire broke out in National Capital – Delhi in just 12 hours. The places where the fire broke out, are the major part of the Delhi- one place is commercial building in Gaffar Market, Central Delhi and another is the Sabzi Mandi, Okhla.

Fire at Gaffar Market:

A major fire broke out in a commercial building in Gaffar market, Central Delhi, late Tuesday night. 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediate after a phone call to control the flames. Fire-fighting operations continued whole night.

The flames were reported in the Crown Towers building around 11 p.m on Tuesday. It is suspected to have been triggered from an air conditioning unit in the building.

Some people who were sleeping on the footpath nearby noticed the smoke and raised the alarm. Much of the floor of the building from which the fire was reported has been totally damaged. There were no reports of any human casualty till now.

Fire at Sabzi Mandi, Okhla 

A major fire broke out in Sabzi Mandi, Okhla. 5 shops and many trucks were gutted in Sabzi mandi, Okhla.
Fire officials said that No one was injured in the incident.

An officer of Delhi Fire Service said that the fire at Sabzi Mandi was reported around 6.45 PM on Tuesday. He further added that 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately as the officers received a call regarding the fire broke out. It took around one-and-a-half hours for the firefighters to control over the fire.

It is estimated that there is loss of more than Rs. 10 lakhs.

The officials said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
