Kobe Bryant is an iconic basketball star. Today, he is prepares to play his final match and Nike is celebrating it with an ad that sees scores of its athletes talking about Los Angeles Lakers player.

Mamba Day

The “Mamba Day” spot – a play on his “Black Mamba” nickname – began airing on the weekend. The ad was first spotted at The Wall Street Journal.

Nike athletes are starring in the  ad include Tiger Woods, Odell Beckham Jr, Neymar Jr, Kevin Durrant, Rory McIlroy, Serena Williams, LeBron James, and many other  players from different games.

Nike has declares April 13 “Mamba Day” and also created a dedicated mobile website where fans and lovers can create a poster and share their “last word” on Bryant.

However, paying tributes by the Nike is not a new legacy. In 2014, Nike’s Jordan brand farewell retiring New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter with an ad called “RE2PECT”. How any fans can forget that legacy of paying tribute?

It was the ad only which brings the fans and celebrities together from the sporting world and gives their thanks to the player.
