On Saturday, a massive fire broke out in a firecrackers market Aurangabad, Maharashtra here, gutting more than 150 stalls and 30 vehicles parked nearby, but no casualty was reported, as per the police officials sources.
The fire started at around 11.45 am in the market set up on the occasion of Diwali at Zilla Parishad Ground under Krantipura Police Station in Aurangabad, Central Maharashtra city.
The police officials said that over 150 firecracker stalls went up in flames, while 30 vehicles parked in and around the ground were also totally burnt. No casualty has been was reported so far.
The officials said that cause of the fire was not cleared now. At least 10 fire engines accompanied with water tankers were rushed to the spot and the flames were extinguished in over an hour.
The black smokes with harmful chemicals billowed from the market and covered the area.
Amitesh Kumar who is the Police Commissioner and other senior officers visited the spot and took the information about the situation.
