Mehul Choksi Missing In Antigua PNB Scam Bio Wiki Images & All Details

Well, most of us are fully aware about Punjab National Bank scam, among others Mehul Choksi is also one of the fugitives who was linked with Rs 14,000 crore money laundering case. However, there’s been a twist in this case recently as the 62-year-old fugitive businessman has gone missing. According to some sources, it was reported on Tuesday that Mehul Choksi who is recently residing at the Antigua, which is one of the islands in Caribbean nation, is nowhere to be found.

Back in 2018, Choksi had escaped to Antigua and Barbuda from India. While talking to NDTV on Tuesday, Vijay Aggarwal, who is the lawyer of Choksi has stated that his client went missing from Antigua. In addition to that, he revealed that there were a search warrant that was launched against Choksi in Antiguan after which he is nowhere to be found and his family is searching for him.

As per to reports of Antigua News studios, Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney was handed over this case where he was asked to follow up the locations of Mehul Choksi who is a fugitive businessman from India.

However, the disappearance of Choksi has not been informed officially to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who are currently handling the 62-year-old Indian fugitive businessman case, as per to the NDTV report. There are total of two top agencies, including CBI, that have been assigned to lookout for Choksi’s locations or whereabouts. However, CBI has not been informed so far about Choksi’s missing case in Antigua.

Previously in 2018, when Choksi fled and escaped from India, a Red Notice was issued against the fugitive businessman. The notice was issued by Global Police Body Interpol in the year 2018, this in simple term means that the officials will be informed immediately once the fugitive will enter in any of the country, across the globe.

In the meantime, some other news reports have suggested that Choksi may possibly have shifted to Cuba, as per to a senior official. That might be possible and the reason is very simple as Cuba has no extradition contract with India just like Antigua.

The news agency ANI has also reported that Choksi was in the southern part of Antigua on Monday. At the evening, he then left his home to visit a restaurant for dinner after which he didn’t come back home and is missing since then. Later on, his vehicle was also found but he was not inside or nearby the car, according to ANI report.

He is currently involved in an on-going legal battle to stop his return to India where he will be arrested after his return due to his involvement in the PNB scam case. Additionally, he is holding the citizenship of Antiguan.
