Mother injured In Hit-And-Run Case Jennings Station Road & A 2-Year-Old Boy Killed

In an apparent hit-and-run case on Saturday night, a 2-year-old boy lost his life. As per to the local police report, the incident took place at the Jennings Station Road, 5500 block on May 29, 2021 at night time. The mother of 2-year-old was also severely injured in the accident but somehow survived it, but is currently in critical condition. She was rushed to the hospital as her condition was very critical at the accident scene and right now she has been hospitalised where her treatment is going on in the critical ward of the hospital.

As per to the local police, the incident took place when they were crossing a street in the suburb of St. Louis and the 29-year-old mother was also carrying an infant with her in the back of her car seat. While rescuing them, the infant seemed uninjured but still was taken to the local hospital for safety measure. The baby survived the accident unharmed but the mother is critically injured while her 2-year-old son has lost his life at the accident spot.

The St. Louis County Police started the investigation immediately and their initial report states that the victims were crossing Jennings Station 5500 block at about 10:00 PM at night and when they reached double yellow traffic lines, a speeding vehicle moving towards south hit them and this unfortunate incident took place.

However, the suspect didn’t stop his/her vehicle after hitting the victims and fled away from the accident scene towards the Emma’s 6900 block. While talking to the news reporters, the grandmother of 2-year-old child, also the mother of the woman was very distressed and said that her daughter (currently hospitalized) didn’t know that her son has been killed in this accident.

The locals have also revealed to the news reporters that most of the people usually drive recklessly on these lanes, even surpassing the pre-set speed limit. Some also said that the reckless drivers have even launched-off from the road and have ended up landing on other people’s porch in front of their home and some can be quite dangerous.

As of now, the St. Louis County Police have not release any description or pictures of the suspect’s vehicle. However, the police have handed over the case to the specialized department bureau that investigates crimes against persons or accidents. Currently, the investigation has started has the team is reconstructing the scene to catch the culprit as soon as possible. In addition to that, the police department has also released the helpline contact number to the public in order to get even the minor information that can lead to solve the case.
