With the BCCI yearly general meeting (AGM) which is being round the corner and amendments set to be suggested, the new Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) is expected to comprise of old guards Sachin Tendulkar as well as VVS Laxman, according to the source close to the development said on Friday.

The source stated, “Sachin and Laxman are likely to be brought back. Since Sourav (Ganguly) is the BCCI president, he obviously cannot be there,”
The first CAC included Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman who had earlier refused to be part of the procedure for selecting India’s women’s coach previous year after conflict of interest charges that were brought against them.
In addition to that, the Former India captain Kapil Dev was made the chairman of the committee later with Anshuman Gaekwad as well as Shantha Rangaswamy also there. The committee on the other hand also worked as an ad-hoc body in order to select the Indian men’s team head coach.
Ravi Shastri on the other hand also got an extension after which Kapil as well as his team stepped down from their spots leaving the committee unoccupied. It was also well-read that at the AGM, the cooling off period for state bodies might possibly also be lifted together with 70-year age cap for members of committees along with sub- committees.
In the meantime, the Ganguly-led office carriers of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to hold the AGM on Sunday at its headquarters located in Mumbai.
