On Monday, Elon Musk’s Tesla Motors announced that in order to manufacture the modules and solar cells in New York, it would collaborate with the Japan’s Panasonic.
Tesla further informed media wing that ” our company is looking to use the energy storage products Powerwall and Powerpack with the cells and modules in a solar energy system for the energy storage.”
The company will soon ink the contract with the Panasonic and will take a giant step in the development of their company. Meanwhile, Panasonic has already inked the contract with the with the U.S. automaker and is supplying the batteries for the Model 3.
The collaboration of both these companies is highly beneficial for both the company. The Japan’s giant Panasonic will begin the production work at the Buffalo facility in 2017.
According to the sources, the Tesla has given the complete commitment to the Panasonic regarding the purchase of the cells that will be active in production from 2017.
The official of Tesla said that ” the agreement has been inked with the Panasonic company and it had the shareholders’ approval of its acquisition of SolarCity.
