Petrol & Diesel Prices Today: Fuel Prices Hiked for 4th Consecutive Day: Check Reason Behind Price Hike And All Details

As per the latest update on the price rising of petrol and diesel has increased the tension of middle-class society in India as the price have been hiking since the last four days. The central government of India is worried about the worldwide surge in the price of crude oil which also affects India because India is an importer and not an exporter of crude oil. This surge has caused the governments of many countries as well as their citizens to bring some changes in their monthly domestic budget. In the 21st century, diesel and petrol are very essential with the view to travel. People approach their offices by public or private vehicles, sometimes nearby their home and sometimes far away; therefore, people have to take to different vehicles which all need petrol or diesel to move forward. Most countries are dependent on oil on countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Russia and some other oil-producing countries.

According to the recent updates, the new prices of petrol and diesel in some major cities are as follow:

  • New Delhi; There is a hike of Rs 0.35 in the prices of both petrol and diesel. This a noticeable surge in the prices of petrol and diesel for a consecutive fourth day on 23rd October 2021. The prices of petrol and diesel have reached Rs 107.24 for a litre and Rs 95.97 per litre respectively.
  • Mumbai; The commercial capital of India has also been experiencing an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. As per a new order, petrol and diesel prices have reached Rs 113.12  and Rs 104.00 respectively.
  • Kolkata; According to the new price list of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Union Government of India, people of Kolkata state have to pay Rs 107.78 for a litre of petrol and Rs 99.08 for a litre of diesel.
  • Chennai; The new prices of petrol and diesel in Chennai are Rs 104.22 and Rs 100.25 respectively.

The different rates of petrol and diesel across the country vary on the basis of the value-added tax of the concerned state in India. The government of India has failed to manage the prices of Crude oil in the past several years. On the price rising of crude oil in India, a minister of state of Uttar Pradesh/prayagraj, Upendra Paswan (minister of Phephana Vidhan sabha constituency in Ballia district, UP) has said that 95% people do not require petrol in India. The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is concerned at the consecutive price rise of crude oil. The government of India has never succeeded to put any check on the increased prices of crude oil, however, the concerned ministry of government is endeavouring to cope up with the problem of crude oil crises.
