A small twin-engine plane designed to carry crew between locations came down in Colombia, according to US reports. A small plane assigned to the crew of a movie starring Tom Cruise crashed in Colombia on Friday, killing two people, including a Los Angeles-based film pilot, and seriously injuring a third, the country’s civilian aviation authority said.
Cruise, a trained pilot, arrived last month in Colombia to film a movie called “Mena,” about an American pilot who worked for the late cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar.
Reports say the small twin-engine plane went down with 2 American pilots and a Colombian citizen on board. It has been used during production to transport crew members. We do know Cruise was NOT on board. He had wrapped filming earlier in the day. There are reports the plane went down in bad weather near Medellin.
Filming started in May in Georgia and the actor arrived in Medellin just last month on August 20 to scout for locations. It’s due for release in January 2017.
