PM Narendra Modi to chair first all-party meeting on Kashmir today

Today, the NDA government has called an all-party meeting on the ongoing violent protests in in kashmir valley. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Today is the last day of monsoon session of Parliament. Almost all political parties wants that the government should start a dialogue process with the people of the Kashmir Valley and send a delegation to hold talks with people of Kashmir.

On Tuesday, PM Modi had said in a rally in Madhya Pradesh that Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had shown us the path, and we will follow his footsteps: Jamooriyat(democracy), Insaniyat(Humanity), and kashmiriyat(Kashmiri values). Freedom enjoyed by every Indian is also for every Kashmiri. Social harmony, unity and peace are the way forward.

The leaders of the NDA have assured both the houses of Parliament that the central government will speak to CM Mehbooba Mufti and prepare a ground for an all-party delegation to Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi spoke on the situation of Kashmir valley after a day when chief minister visited Delhi on Monday. CM Mufti appealed to the Prime Minister for his personal intervention to end the unrest in the kashmir valley.

PM Modi said that the door was open for talks on the situation of kashmir valley. This is the first attempt made by the central government to start a dialogue process with the people of Kashmir.

Violent protests rocked Kashmir valley after a day terrorist Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces on 8th July 2016. This lead to a violent protests across the kashmir Valley. Till now 58 people, including two police officers, were killed and at least 5800 people injured in the violent protest in the kashmir valley.

This is the worst situation in the kashmir valley after the violent protest in 2010. In 2010, above 100 people were killed in the violent protest in the kashmir valley.
