According to the sources it came to know that the competent authority in DGCA imposed a penalty of Rs. 5 Lakh on the largest carrier in terms of market share, Indigo in the matter of the special child offloading case in Ranchi, on Saturday, as soon as the news broke on the social media, the airlines started facing media outrage.
Reportedly, the competent authority in DGCA recently, came up deciding to impose a penalty of Rs 5 Lakhs on the Indigo airline under the conditions of the relevant Aircraft Rules. Well, the news now has gained national attention after all Indigo is not any ordinary airline because it has been satisfying its customers for a very long time. The incident occurred on May 9 and it is being heard that a boy was denied permission to board the Ranchi-Hyderabad flight as he was visibly in panic. As soon as the boy’s parents got to know about their kid’s incident they reacted to it. Later, the DGCA send 3 officials to investigate the scene.
DGCA Fines IndiGo Rs 5 Lakh For Not Boarding Special Needs
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), in a statement, said that “It has been observed that the handling of the special child by the Indigo ground staff was deficient and ended up exacerbating the situation. Continuing the statement the official stated, “A more caring dealing with would have smoothened the nerves, quieted the youngster and would have deterred the requirement for the outrageous advance bringing about denied boarding to the travelers”.
Answering the shock, IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta had said in a proclamation that they “had to pursue a hard decision”. “All through the registration and boarding process our aim obviously was to convey the family, notwithstanding, at the boarding region the young person was noticeably in alarm. While offering gracious and sympathetic support to our clients is of fundamental significance to us, the air terminal staff, in accordance with the security rules, had to settle on a hard decision concerning whether this disturbance would convey forward on board the airplane,” he said.
