In a latest banking scam in India, offenders are now considering at methods and techniques to assure people to download remote device control apps like AnyDesk. If any of you have downloaded or been using a app called Any Desk downloaded on your phone, probabilities are somebody is snooping on your bank account information and can anytime steal off your money.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is warning all the online banking users in contrast to this fake app declaring that the app may perhaps first steal all your banking information and as soon as they get your details they will then rob all of your money from the bank account.
The Any Desk app works like a distant access facility that takes control of your device and does transactions on operator’s behalf. Allegedly, the app can become aware of all your OTPs which means it can tap off all your money from bank account in less than a minutes.
According to the RBI alert message, all the online banking users are at threat and on the other hand the UPI operators are more at risk to it.
On February 14, the bank sent an alert message states that the app is being used by the hackers to get banking information of operators. The modus operandi of the app comprises the use of the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) to rob the money.
The steps goes like this: firstly the fraudster asks you to download the app. Be careful, the app download request can come from any social media or either from the Play Store/App store platforms. Once you have downloaded the app, the app will produce a nine-digit code on your device which will be used by the hacker to get the information and SMS facility on your device. The hacker through this technique can hack any mobile-banking or payment apps.
The RBI advisory stated, “Once a fraudster inserts this app code on his device, he will ask the victim to grant certain permissions, which are similar to what are required while using other apps”.
In order to stay safe from getting trap in this app is to not download it in the first place. But if you have already downloaded and using it then delete it instantly from your device and scan it after deleting the app.
Having increase in the number of such banking frauds over and over again, the State Bank of India has also issued some guiding principle to stay safe from such scams. The bank advised its users to never share your card and its information with no one. Enter your ATM pin securely especially when you are in public place or do not reveal it with anyone even at home, the more the people will know your ATM details the more you will be at risk of losing your money.
