A video released by Republic TV that policemen were seen assaulting him physically as they were trying to take him away. The reason behind the suicide was that the Interior designer Anvay Naik with his mother committed suicide at their Bungalow in Alibaug in May 2018. On the suicide spot, Police found a suicide note which was written by the Anvay itself. It was written that Arnab Goswami, Nitish Sarda of Smartworks, and Feroz Shaikh of IcastX/Skimedia had not paid his Rs 5 Crore which took him into financial troubles. Anvay was found hanging on the first floor while his mother’s body (Kumud Naik) was found on the ground floor by the police. Anvay was in heavy trouble because he was unable to pay the money to the contractors.

According to the information,” Anvay’s daughter encourages the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to reopen the case of Anvay. He also tweeted in May,” Adnya Naik had complained to me that Alibaug Police had not investigated non-payment dues from Arnab Goswami’s public which drove her entrepreneur father and grandma to suicide in May 2018. I have ordered a CID investigation of the case”.
