In the case of Saseendran scandal, a retired district court judge will probe the allegations against A K Saseendran. Previously, A K Saseendran resigned as Transport Minister. On Wednesday morning, a cabinet meeting took the decision in this regard. The Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired the cabinet meeting. the official said that retired judge P S Antony will head the judicial commission to probe into the allegations against Saseendran. According to the judicial commission’s ordered that Antony has to submit its report in three months time.
Judge probes Saseendran scandal
Earlier, the state government had decided to conduct a judicial probe into the charges against 72-year-old Saseendran. Former State Transport Minister – Saseendran resigned on 26th March after a Malayalam television channel released an audio clipping. An audio clip is a telephone conversation of Saseendran speaking in sexual undertones to a woman.
Saseendran resigned on moral grounds as soon as the scandal broke out on the television and media. On giving his resignation, Saseendran said that his resignation should not be construed as an admission of guilt.
Former State Transport Minister – A K Saseendran is the second minister to quit after Industries Minister E P Jayarajan. The former state industries minister – E P Jayarajan resigned over the charges of nepotism triggered by appointment of his two close relatives to top posts in the state PSUs.
