Rio Olympics 2016: Sania Mirza-Rohan Bopanna Lose Semis, To Play Mixed Doubles Bronze Play-off

Indis’s dream of claiming the medals is looking too far as in the first week of Rio Olympics, Indians athletes failed to grab any medal. And, now India’s mixed double pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna also failed to reach the final as lost the semifinal match against the USA’s Venus Williams and Rajeev Ram by 6-2 2-6 3-10 on Saturday.

The duo of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna were expected to do well at the Rio Olympics and especially from Sania Mirza. But, it does not happen I the same way as it was expected.

This loss came to a surprise to many people as the pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna was dominating the firsts e of the match and especially Bopanna as he was playing beautifully and with some big serves and producing some mesmerizing trick shots.

Also, Sania sported him with her strong forehand. Although, after the first set Sania and Bopanna finds it too hot to handle the counter-attacking of the Venu.

Ram and Venus made a strong comeback and left the Indian’s duo to re-think their strategies. Both, Sania and Bopanna lost their concentration and this cost them the match.

And it took only few time, to Ram and Venus to start celebrating their win as they both jumped and were the world’s two best happiest men on the planet.

And, now Sania and Boppana in the bronze medal play-off and give India its first medal in the Rio Games. All the eyes will be on these two when they walked for the playoffs.
