Sahitya Akademi Award is considered to be a literary honour in India. Sahitya Akademi which is India’s National Academy of Letters, every year confers on writers of exceptional works in one of the twenty-four major Indian languages. In order to honour such writers Sahitya Akademi Award is presented and awarded to them.

This year too, the awards were presented to all the exceptional writers of 24 different Indian languages. Sahitya Akademi, India’s national academy of letters, has recently declared a list of total number of 22 winners of the Bal Sahitya Puraskar as well as 23 recipients of the Yuva Puraskar for the year 2019.
The winners of Bal Sahitya Puraskar as well as the winners of Yuva Puraskar awards are going to receive a casket holding an inscribed copper commemorative inscription along with a cheque of Rs 50,000.
