Srinagar: Today, Jammu and Kashmir government extended the summer vacations of school and colleges in the valley due to tense in the valley. Now the schools and colleges will open on 25th July. Early the schools and colleges were scheduled to reopen tomorrow.
The Kashmir valley has been witnessing the violence after the killing of terrorist Burhan Wani.
Naeem Akhtar who is Education Minister said that the government has decided to extend the summer vacation by one weeks in the schools and colleges of the valley.
Akhtar said that the decision to extend the summer vacation was taken in the view of the ongoing law and order problems in the Kashmir valley.
If the situation in the valley returns to normal, the school and colleges in the valley will re-open on 25th July. The schools and the colleges in the valley were scheduled to reopen tomorrow after the 17 days of summer vacation.
A violent protests have hit the Kashmir badly since 9th July due to the killing of terrorist Burhan wani and his two accomplice by the Indian security forces.
In the violence, 39 people including one policeman killed and 3160 persons including 1500 security force personnel got injured in the violent protest.
Normal life has remained paralysed in the valley since the separatists sponsored strike across the valley and curfew imposed in the valley to maintain the law and order in the valley.
The mobile services also suspended till the situation in the valley becomes normal. Only officials and government offices’s mobile services is working in the valley.
