According to the sources, the scene was sparked when an employee opened fire toward the manufacturing business in rural western Maryland on Thursday (June 9), leaving killing three coworkers before the suspect and a state trooper were wounded in a shootout.
Doug Mullendore the Washington County Sheriff in a statement said that a total of three victims who suffered shots have died in Columbia Machine Inc. in Smithsburg, whereas the fourth one is critical and currently struggling to live with the wounds. The sheriff continuing the statement said that all the victims and the suspect is not an employee of the same company. Before the police nabbed the suspect he fled in a vehicle, however, later he was tracked down by the Maryland state police. In another statement to the press Mullendore said that the suspect was a 42-year-old man but declined to reveal his name while criminal charges were being prepared against him.

Well, when it comes to talking about the identity of the victims it came to know that the sheriff recognized those killed in the shooting as Mark Alan Frey, 50; Charles Edward Minnick Jr., 31; and Joshua Robert Wallace, 30. Mullendore said the injured casualty was Brandon Chase Michael, 42 Maryland State Police Lt. Col. Charge Dofflemyer said that three officers experienced the suspect’s vehicle and that he started shooting when officers made a traffic stop. Officers returned fire, injuring the suspect. Dofflemyer said the injured officer is getting along admirably and that the suspect was being dealt with Thursday night.
In a statement, the authorities said that they are still working on the orders to find the reason that led to the shooting there and left killing two. The statement can be seen as “We’re still working with the sheriff’s office on what happened and why it kept escalating,” Mullendore continues the statement told that the suspect used a semiautomatic handgun, that was later recovered after the shootout. However, the sheriff has declined to specify the caliber or model.
