Son-in-law of former CM Sheila dikshit sent to one day judicial custody for domestic violence

On Thursday, the son-in-law of Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit was sent to a day’s judicial custody by a Delhi court. The Delhi Court will pronounce its order tomorrow on his bail plea in a case of theft and misappropriation of property of his wife.

Syed Mohammad Imran was arrested by police from Bangalore and brought Delhi on transit remand. Imran was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma after expiry of his two-days police custody.

After hearing arguments of the prosecution and the accused, the court reserved its order for tomorrow.

The court rejected the police plea during the proceedings because ample time was given to the police., but police seek extension of police custody of the accused.

The police moved an application seeking 14-days judicial custody of Imran, saying that if granted bail to Imran, he is likely to tamper with the evidence and intimidate the witnesses, so his custody is needed to prevent him from committing further offence.

The police said that during the probe and his two days of police custody, the accused Imran did not cooperate. The police raids were conducted and 4 shawls and some ornaments were recovered from his possession.

The daughter of Sheila Dikshit – Latika and Imran had got married in the year 1996, . In her complaint filed in June, Latika, in her complaint filed in June,  had alleged that the atttitude Imran had changed towards her and had become aggressive and rude after her mother lost in the Delhi Assembly polls.
