What made you sing this particular song?

The song Hai ranjishein tere mere darmiyaan zindagi, Gunjayishein samjhoton ki dur tak dikhti nahi… pours out, rage. It is about how a poor girl will not remain quiet, but war back and that’s the sense of the verse. We were rolling in the song’s video and every single time I went to give a shot I would finish up humming it with all my pleasure. It’s just one of those numbers.

So the makers suggested that I should sing it for recording as well. Everyone was stunned as I make use of total 30 minutes after the mic! It was a wonderful adventure and completely the kind of place that I desire to be in. Hai ranjishein… is the sort of song I have always wanted to record. Shekhar (Ravjiani) was also supporting and that eased a lot.

Did you rehearse before singing it?

No, I didn’t. It was really a spur-of-the-moment stuff and indeed all my practice happened while filming the video. I just arrived up at the studio after that and done with it in about half-an-hour, also Shekhar was shocked. Though I haven’t taken any official schooling, I have always relished music and singing. And I think when you love to do anything, over time you get better at it.

Akira is complete, so will your song be for a promotional video?

Yes, it is. It’s a fabulous song and will be actually good for me to unite with the youth while marketing the film. It has a high feel to it.
