The Indian Olympic Gold Medalist Wrestler Sushil Kumar has been arrested in the morning after involving in the murder case of 23-years-old wrestler Sagar Rana in Chhatrasal Stadium, Delhi on May 4-5. Sagar Rana was murdered during the fight of two groups in Chhatrasal Stadium. He ran away after this incident and Delhi police took a price of Rs 1 Lakh to one who gives the information about Sushil Kumar and Rs 50 thousand for his co-accused. He has been avoiding arrest for the last 20 days, said Delhi police. Today, he was arrested by Delhi Police, and with him, Ajay also was arrested.
Delhi police were looking at him for his alleged involvement in the murder of 23-years-old Indian wrestler, Sagar Rana at a Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi. According to the reports, the special cell was leading by Inspector Shivkumar, Inspector Karambir, and supervising by ACP Attar Singh arrested Sushil Kumar and Ajay from Delhi’s Mundka area in the connection of killing 23-years-old wrestler Sagar Rana at the Delhi’s stadium,” said P.S Kushwah, Special Cell Deputy Commissioner of Police.
According to the police, Sushil Kumar and his friends or members assaulted a 23-years-old wrestler and with his two friends at the Chhatrasal Stadium. Later, all three were admitted to the hospital but Sagar Rana died due to the bad injuries on his body. Later, Rs 1 Lakh was priced announced for Sushil Kumar and on the other side, Rs 50,000 was announced for his friend, Ajay Kumar.
When the incident came into the limelight, Delhi police started raiding in every place of Sushil Kumar and also, the surrounding areas and the neighbouring states of Delhi to arrest the Indian wrestler at any cost. Sushil Kumar also approached the Rohini court for asking protection from arrest on May 18 and the court claimed to him that there are no injuries caused by the victim during the fight. The court dismissed his bail and said that he was the main culprit of this incident and all the allegations are against him in this matter. Later, the warrant for the Sushil Kumar and six other has been issued by the court. It was issued after the lookout notice was released against the Sushil Kumar
Sushil Kumar achieved the bronze medal for the nation in 2008 in Beijing Olympics and after 4 years, he achieved the silver medal in London Olympics 2012. He also comes on the list of brilliant players in India and achieved lots of medal and awards in India for his gameplay.
