The upcoming Tamil Nadu poll is to be the sixteenth legislative assembly election for electing the members from total number of 234 constituencies of the Legislative Assembly in the Tamil Nadu state in India. Today, the ruling AIADMK led by Edappadi K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam have released the candidates’ list for total 171 constituencies for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2021 in Tami Nadu.
One must take note that the party has also released the list of 20 constituencies’ names from where the BJP is going to contest. In addition to that, PMK which is led by S Ramadoss and is in the alliance with both the parties has also given total 23 Assembly segments.
The AIADMK has given the election tickets to many well-known ministers from the state. The list of the candidates was released by the general secretary of T T V Dhinakaran on Wednesday. This list includes the names of some former ministers, former MLAs as well as a former MP.
Some of the important names in the list of AIADMK consist of SP Velumani, Sengottaiyan, N G Parthiban, JCD Prabhakar, VV Ramana, G Senthamizhan, P Palaniappan, Mafoi Pandiarajan, Gokula Indira, Valarmathi, KP Munusamy, C Shanmugavelu, Pollachi Jayaraman, Dindigul Sreenivasan, MC Sampath, OS Manian, Vaithialingam, C Vijayabhaskar, Thangamani, M Rengasamy, K K Umadevan, among many others.

As far as the dates for the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election 2021 is considered, the poll will be held on 6 April 2021. With the help of this election, the members will be elected from 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, India. As it will be the sixteenth legislative assembly election, the term of the previous Tamil Nadu’s Legislative Assembly (15th) is soon going to end on May 24, 2021. As of now, the politics of Tamil Nadu have been ruled for the past 50 years by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) as well as by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
