TN Medical MBBS Merit list 2019 Check Rank List announced at tnmedicalselection.net

Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu, state selection committee has announced the merit list for MBBS and BDS admissions for 2019-20 on Saturday. Candidates who appeared for MBBS state level entrance examination for the academic year 2019-20 can now check the results on Tamil Nadu’s official website i.e. tnmedicalselection.net.

With 685 marks, Shruthi K from Tiruvallur has topped the list in NEET exam. The MBBS counseling will be starting from July 08. Special category candidates viz. students belonging to ex-servicemen families, differently-abled students will be attending counseling on day one.

31,353 applicants have qualified the examination out of 39, 013 applicants, including more than 50% of old students. The state government is already following 69% reservation in MBBS admissions.

The cut-offs this year is expected to have increased by 50 to 75 marks for all categories, because of the high scores in NEET this year. According to officials, cut off percentile for General category candidates is 50 while for OBC, SC, and ST category candidates the cut-off percentile in 40.

Steps to check Tamil Nadu NEET 2019:

  • Visit the official website, tnmedicalselection.org.
  • Click on the link Tamil Nadu NEET Rank List.
  • The page will be directed, and Tamil Nadu MBBS NEET Rank List opens in PDF format.
  • Find your name or registration number.
  • Download and take a print out of it for future reference.

The allotment seats will be done on the basis of candidate’s merit position in the merit list, choice opted and considering the other factors like reservation and eligibility.

After releasing the rank list, health minister Vijayabhaskar said, “The state government convened an all-party meeting on Monday to take the decision on 10% EWS quota.”

He further added, “The selection committee will conduct counseling for 3,988 seats available for medical counseling and 562 seats available under management quota this year. This year 350 MBBS seats are increased in govt medical colleges.”

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization for conducting an efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.
