Earthquake tremors were felts in parts of Delhi, Kolkata, India-Myanmar Border, Northeast, West Bengal, Bihar, including Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and other states on Sunday, 13 April 2016.
Few days back, on April 10, a capable seismic tremor timing 6.8 on the Richter scale, epicentres in Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan, had shocked a few sections of North India, including the Delhi NCR area.
According to National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 7:25 PM at the depth of 134 km.
The USGS says the quake’s epicenter was 396 kilometers north of Myanmar’s capital, Naypyidaw.
Meanwhile, people in Kolkata have reportedly vacated their residences in wake of tremors felt in the city.
A mild quake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre in Nandvi town, had also shaken Surat and Tapi districts of south Gujarat but no casualties were reported.
