According to a latest report by research house Counterpoint, market of global smart phones has already reached the pinnacle and same has been echoed by the IMF reports as well. IMF reports suggest that for the first time in record, shipment of the smart phones has declined despite of the fact that the sales has totaled up to 1.5 billion.
Top 10 most profitable handsets Smartphones
That does not mean that we do not have any notable winners, we have bought the list of top 10 most profitable handsets which have captured 90% of the profit in the fourth quarter of 2017.
- Apple I Phone X
The fact that this phone was only available in the market for just two months couldn’t stop it from becoming world’s most profitable smart phone in the world. Credit to generate 35% of the handset industry profits goes to none other than I Phone X.
Even though global handset profits have declined 1% Year on Year, but apple has grew by 1% and its share is likely to increase further into its life cycle.
- Apple iPhone 8
This smart phone was launched along with iphone 8 plus and iphone X in 2017. It has shared 19.1% of the smart phone industry profits. It is second on the list after iPhone X.
- Apple iPhone 8 Plus
It is on number 3 and has garnered the profit share of 15.2%. It has a bill of materials. Cost of $288 but despite of this fact, its profit has been soared.
- iPhone 7
Though this phone was launched in the year 2017, still it has managed to outnumber the latest Android smart phones in terms of profit numbers. It generates 6.2% of the handset industry’s profit. It was manufactured at the cost of $237.94 and sold at the price of $649, hence render the profit of $411.06 as the pre-assembly profit.
- iPhone 7 Plus
Over two years old, this big screen variant has managed to grab fifth position as the most profitable smart phone in the list by covering the profit share of 5%. It remained one of the highest selling smart phones of the year 2017.
- Galaxy Note 8
It is the first non apple handset in the list. Samsung has expected to have sold almost 10 millions handsets and has a forecast of 74% of year on year jump in operating profits. Also it covers 3.9% of the smart phone’s industry profits.
- iPhone 6
It is quite hard to believe that iPhone 6 manages to contribute 1.8% of the industry profits, though it has been launched in 2014 (almost 4 years back). It generates more profit than the Chinese smart phones available in the market.
- Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus
With 1.7% of the profit share in the industry, it has placed itself on number 8 position. It is known for its large screen and AMOLED display.
- Apple iPhone6S
It boasts 1.6% of the global smart phone industry profits. In the year 2015, it was considered as the best product investment ever helping the company in earning the profit of 18 billion in the year 2015.
- iPhone SE
Last but not the least, on number 10 is iPhone SE. It shares the profit of 0.9%.
