Toronto Police Officer Dead Struck By Vehicle Murdrer Name Images Age And All Details

On Friday, 2nd July 2021 night, the 50-year-old Const. Jeffrey Northrup was hit by a vehicle in the line of duty near Queen and Bay streets. It has been reported that Northrup and his female colleague got a call over 911 regarding a robbery in progress. Later, when both of them arrived in the parking garage at the city hall, the main suspect of the incident was seen standing outside his vehicle. At that time, the officers have put on some basic clothes but were carrying their name tags along with them around their neck. The suspect later confirmed the presence of other people in the vehicle, however, he clearly refused to give any further details. Later, a vehicle approached the two officers, banging them mercilessly. Referring to the above incident, the interim Toronto Police Chief James Ramer stated, “Northrup and his other partner was immediately taken to the nearby St. Michael’s Hospital. However, even before the medical staff would treat his wounds, the police officer lost his dear life.”

Meanwhile, Ramer also told that the other female officer was also taken to the same hospital, where her non-life-threatening wounds were addressed by the hospital staff. In the same case, a 31- year old suspect name, Umar Zameer has been detained by the police on the charges of first-degree intentional murder of Const, Jeffrey Northrup.

The accused appeared in the court on 2nd July and has been taken under remand until his next appearance in the court that is scheduled to take place on 23rd July 2021. Also, the Toronto police have been investigating the whole case and so far, they have concluded this case, as a “deliberate and intentional act”.

Northrup was survived by his wife, 3 children and a mother. Ramer said that Northrup served in the Toronto Police Service together with court service for 31 years and later, in the year 1999, he became a police officer and served under 11 Divison. Since 2008, he was a member of 52 divisions and also a member of the Ceremonial Unit of Chief.

Ramer also stated that Northrup was extremely noble in the job he did and told how hard it was for him and the other members of the Toronto Police Association to broke the devastating news of Northrup’s passing to his family. Ramer and the whole police association of Toronto along with Mayo John Tory paid their last tribute to the deceased police officer and stated that they are extremely proud of him, for offering selfless service to the city, risking his life. He will always be remembered.
