Later, the same was restored within a couple of hours. At that time, one of the officials of the company made a statement saying that as per the Twitter algorithms, if a user is inactive since July 2020,  the company will automatically remove the blue verification tick and also the status of verified. Naidu tweeted his last tweet on 23rd July 2020. Thereafter, the administrator of the Vice President talked about the matter with the Twitter officials regarding the same, and later the company restored the blue badge within a few hours.

The Twitter handle of Bhagwat is “@DrMohanBhagwat”. He joined Twitter in May 2019 and at present, he has 211.6K followers on his Twitter account. Bhagwat has not posted or tweeted anything on his Twitter account since July 2020, thus, there have been various conjectures regarding the removal of badges. Some users are saying that it is the Twitter algorithm that caused the removal of the blue tick from the social media handle of Bhagwat. While many of his followers and other users are saying that there are other accounts also on social media of various prominent leader that has been inactive for quite a while and also before July 2020, but Twitter has not taken any action against those accounts.

Thus, the users are indirectly pointing out the fact that Twitter is targeting RSS leaders only. Earlier, the social media company removed the blue tick from the handles of various RSS leaders including the former general secretary, Suresh Joshi and the current general secretary, Anirudh Deshpande. As of now, neither any official announcement has been made by Mohan Bhagwat’s Twitter account on this matter, nor the company has released an announcement regarding the restoration of the blue badge.
