Two terrorists killed in an Encounter in outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday

In a shootout that was held on the outskirts of Srinagar city, two terrorists were shot dead on Saturday morning. The gunfight took place between the security forces and militants on the outskirts of Srinagar.

The two terrorists have been identified Ishfaq Rashid Khan who was one of the top LeT commanders and the other was LeT terrorist Aijaz Ahmad.

After the security forces received some specific inputs regarding the terrorists, a search operation was conducted in the area.

As per an official, there was a joint team of security forces which includes the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu Kashmir police, Army along with the CRPF have launched a search operation together after the team received specific inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in that area.

He further added that soon one of the searching team cordoned the suspected spot, after which the hiding terrorists fired upon the searching team. In return, the security force team retaliate by firing back and ended up killing the two terrorists in an encounter.

In addition to that, a source in security forces also stated that there are inputs that two to three terrorists are stuck in the cordon. As of now, the total number of 142 terrorists has been killed this year.
