Bareilly: On Wednesday, police said that a local Samajwadi Party leader and three others have been booked for allegedly looting a roadside restaurant Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
The police said that Anil Patel who is the owner of ‘Netaji Dhaba’ at the NH by pass, has alleged that Sandesh Kannaujia who is vice president of the district unit of the SP, and his three aides ate at the restaurant on Monday night and got involved in a brawl with his worker at the time of payment.
The police also said that Patel has alleged that Kannaujia and his associates also looted cash kept at the cash counter besides the verbal fight. They also broke chairs of the hotel and threatened before leaving.
Superintendent of Police – Sameer Saurabh said that an FIR under various sections has been filed against Kannaujia and others and investigations are going on in the case.
But, Kannaujia said that the FIR has been filed by his political adversaries and he did not visit the restaurant that day.
Kannaujia said that the worker who has accused him of loot has been involved in petty thefts in the past.
