The journey of World No 1 Novak Djokovic in the 136th edition of has been a smooth. Djokovic easily reached last 16 on Friday, as his opponent Mikhail Youzhny retired just because of injury.
Meanwhile, the defending champion was ahead from Youzhny in the first set by 4-2 and was looking well set to clinch the win. But, unfortunately, Youzhny quitted as he suffered the hamstring injury.
This week was full of drama for Djokovic as on Monday in his first clash against Jerzy Janowicz, he smashed him and won comfortably. Then, his next clash was a walkover as his opponent Jiri Vesely withdrew from their second round clash with an arm injury.
And, now this match only lasted for 32 minutes. Novak talked to the media wing about all these matches. He informed media wing that “I have never had this happen before in my Grand Slam career, getting a walkover and the next match lasting just half an hour.”
Meanwhile, the next match of Novak is against the ranked 84 Kyle Edmund, who surprised the whole world by thrashing the John Isner by 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7/5) to make a Slam fourth round for the first time.
And now, Novak will face him in the next round. Meanwhile, experts have predicted Novak to come out victorious in the encounter against Kyle Edmund.
Well, we just have to wait for this match and let’s see who will make it for the fifth round.
