Uttarakhand Bus Accident: At least 24 Pilgrims die as Bus Falls into Gorge Videos Photos

A very hearty wrenching news is coming from Uttarakhand where recently a bus fell down into the gorge. According to the reports, the bus is carrying 30 people where 26 people died and 4 people were injured. This accident took place near, Damta on the national highway, The Yamunotri national highway (NH-134) in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi on Sunday, date June 5, 2022. Some people are saying there are 28 pilgrims while some are saying there are 30 pilgrims. Police said there are 30 and a driver. The bus was carrying pilgrims from the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh and was going towards Yamunotri.

Well, you must be searching for the reasons that lead to the accident so we would like to let you know that according to the sources it came to know that the real reason behind the accident is, that the driver fell asleep during driving when he driving from Damta to Barnigad. The remaining distance is around 70km left from Yamunotri when this accident happened. The accident spot is very horrible as dead bodies are hanging on trees, and some of the bodies were found with broken body parts. The time is around 7.15 when he fell asleep at the driving wheel and then the bus fell down into the Gorge and this disaster happened. This was his third trip without any rest, said, officials.

A rescue operation by the police and The State Disaster Response Fund(SDRF) is recently initiated. Those four injured people were sent to Higher Centre for their treatment, Uttrakhand police said. There is a huge police force on spot. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan comes to Dehradun. He reached Dehradun to get involved on Sunday and Monday night to take stock of the relief operation pertaining to the bus accident of pilgrims. After hearing about this accident, Pushkar Singh Dhami (Chief Minister) visited the disaster control room at the secretariat. Shivraj Singh Chouhan also announced to pay Rs 5 lakh each for their families and 50 thousand for those who were injured. Dead bodies were transported to their homes in Madhya Pradesh via Air Force.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced ex-Gratia. family belonging to pilgrims who died and get 2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Funds (PMNRF) and 50,000 each for those who were injured. PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah showed grief over the accident.”This is very painful to hear about this bus accident and also for those who lost their loved ones in this accident, I show my condolence to you all, may their soul rest in peace.
