Videocon which is the Indian electronics giant have launched a budgeted smart phone which will be available at the tag of Rs 8,499. The USP of this handset will be that it is completely made in India. Company has dubbed this handset with the name of Z55 Dash. To unveil this handset, company has collaborated along with Flipkart which is a popular online retailer.
Looks like Videocon is clearly supporting the Modi’s “Make in India” movement and hence has launch this especial “Made in India” product. Earlier this year company announced that it is going to start their three manufacturing units in the country in states like Hyderabad, Kolkata and Madurai. This handset is designed to meet the requirement of the youngsters and since their taste is changing every now and then company is trying to cater this frequently changing taste.

It sports 5” display which delivers screen resolution up to 720X1280 pixels. It also incorporates dragon trail X glasses. It is powered by Octa core processor which is clocked at the frequency of 1.4GHz. The processor here is coupled along with 1GB of internal RAM. It operates on Android Kitkat v4.4.2 which is slightly outdated version.
Talking about the internal memory, then there is 8GB of memory on board which can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of MicroSD card slot. It accommodates 8MP of rear snapper which is coupled along with 5MP of camera on the front for clicking selfies and for video calling. To light up the dull conditions LED Flash is also provided. Rear lens are made up of corning glasses and comes with the coating of “dual-reflective coating”.
It injects connectivity features like Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB, GPS etc. It is a dual SIM smart phone and claims connectors like 3.5mm ear jack and Micro USB. It also boasts sensors like proximity and ambient light sensors.
It houses 2200mah battery capacity which is capable enough to run for whole day long. For now users will get this handset in two variants i.e Black/White and white/chrome. There is a pre-loaded special app called V-Safe app which will ensures one security and is designed such that one can contact their family and friends at the time of emergency. It also come up with the V-secure app which is freely subscribed for 90 days.
Videocon is tagged at the amount of Rs 8,499 and there are already many handsets present in this range Moto E 2nd Gen 4G, Yu Yuphoria, Yu Eureka, Micromax Nitro 2, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime etc.
