Warnermedia’s New Netflix Rival is Titled Hbo Max; Pulls Friends from Netflix in the US

WarnerMedia has now officially publicized the name for its forthcoming streaming service, HBO Max. The new subscription service that is going to combine the major content all over Warner’s several media properties into a new direct-to-consumer streaming service, and now is going to have exclusive movies as well as shows, along with the classic ones like Friends.

HBO Max is going to serve as WarnerMedia’s streaming competition to many leading services such as Netflix, Hulu, as well as Disney+. However, WarnerMedia didn’t yet declared the pricing details, as well as it doesn’t have set any release date. Though, HBO Max is planned to be releasing in Spring 2020 and is also going to comprise of content from properties such as DC, TNT, TBS, truTV, The CW, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, HBO, and so much more.

WarnerMedia’s HBO Max is also going to comprise of a slate of original programming. Earlier, they have also announced the exclusives one, some of which includes:

Dune: The Sisterhood, a series from director Denis Villeneuve based on Frank Herbert’s Dune.

Tokyo Vice, about the Tokyo Metropolitan Police based on Jake Adelstein’s non-fiction story, which also stars Ansel Elgort.

The Flight Attendant, a one-hour thriller series based on the novel by Chris Bohjalian, made by producer Greg Berlanti.

Love Life, a 10-episode half-hour romantic comedy anthology series which stars Anna Kendrick.

Station Eleven, a post-apocalyptic limited series based on Emily St. John Mandel’s international bestseller and is adapted by Patrick Somerville and directed by Hiro Murai

Made for Love, a 10-episode, half-hour, straight-to-series adaptation based on the tragicomic novel adaptation directed by S.J. Clarkson.

Gremlins, an animated series based on the classic horror-comedy movie franchise from Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Entertainment.
