On Thursday, A 44 years old Bridge was collapsed in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh.
A local guy recorded a video in his cell phone. The recorded video shows a large part of a 44-year-old bridge in Kangra collapsing due to heavy rain and getting washed away in the flowing river.
According to a report of the officials said that ten pillars supporting the bridge were washed away due to heavy rains.
There is no reports of loss of life, because the local administration had already closed the bridge after cracks appeared in the bridge. The bridge connected villages in Himachal Pradesh with those in Punjab and experience heavy traffic movement on normal days.
The authority took a prompt reaction which averted a big tragedy This is the second incident of the collapse of the bridge in just two weeks. It shows poor maintenance of old bridges in the country posing grave threat to the commuters.
In last week, A British era Bridge on Mumbai-Goa Highway was collapsed and washed out in the flowing river due to heavy rains. In this collapse, two bus with the people washed out in the flowing river and 14 were killed.
