West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee condemned the terror attack in Bangladesh

On Sunday, the Chief Minister of West Bengal – Mamata Banerjee strongly condemned the terror attack in Bangladesh. She also expressed solidarity with brothers and sisters in the neighbouring country.

In a tweet, Mamta Banerjee said that Strongly condemn the suicide attack in Sylhet.

6 people were killed and about 40 injured including a top intelligence officer in two powerful blasts occurred in the last evening outside a building occupied by the Islamist militants in Sylhet city, Bangladesh.

The terrorists blasted the first powerful blast in a huge crowded place witnessing the operation codenamed Twilight and policemen deployed there. The terrorists also attacked with second one blast in front of the hideout.

On Friday night, The Bangladesh Army launched an Operation – Twilight after a suicide bomber blew himself up at the International airport in Dhaka. The attack was later claimed by the terror group – ISIS. These twins attack happened after a week of an identical attack on a camp in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Police had tracked down the Sylhet hideout in less than a week after the they busted two militant dens on the outskirts of the southeastern port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Since the year 2013, Bangladesh has been witnessing a spate of attacks on religious minorities, foreigners and secular activists. Especially after the Dhaka Cafe attack 2016, Bangladesh launched a massive crackdown on the militants.
