Maundy Thursday is also known as Green Thursday and Sheer Thursday. Sheer Thursday refers to the ceremonial washing of alters on the Thursday before Good Friday.
How is the Maundy Thursday celebrated?
On this day, Pope washes and kisses the feet of 12 members of the church as a tradition. In the UK, the queen helps deserving senior citizens by giving them coins called Maundy money.
