A piece of news is circulating all over the internet that Hope Solo, who was a former goalie for the USWNT, was arrested when she was discovered passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in North Carolina with her 2-year-old twins inside. According to a police report, Solo was detained in a shopping centre parking lot in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on 31st March 2022 on Thursday and charged with driving under the influence, resisting a public officer, and misdemeanour child abuse. A bystander observed the Olympic champion passed out behind the wheel for more than an hour with the vehicle’s engine running and the two children in the backseat, according to an arrest warrant. Solo refused a field sobriety test and her blood was found to be tainted by alcohol, according to the warrant.
Solo has been released for the time being, and according to rumours, she has a court hearing set on June 28. “On the advice of counsel, Hope can’t speak about this circumstance,” said Rich Nichols, a Texas-based attorney who represents Solo in a statement made on Friday, March 1. But she wants everyone to know that her children are her life, that she was released right afterwards and is currently at home with her family, that the narrative is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she eagerly awaits her chance to defend herself.”
Who is Hope Solo’s husband?
The Olympic champion’s arrest has prompted some to doubt her parenting abilities as well as her husband’s. Solo married athlete Jerramy Stevens in November 2012, and the couple has two children, Lozen and Vittorio, who are two years old. Solo has had previous run-ins with the authorities, having had domestic violence assault accusations against her dismissed in 2015. She was charged with two misdemeanours after an altercation at a party with her half-sister and 17-year-old nephew.
Stevens, Solo’s spouse, is a former NFL player. In the first round of the NFL Draft in 2002, he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks. Stevens began his career with the Seattle Seahawks before moving on to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had previously participated in high school football and collegiate football at the University of Washington. Solo isn’t the only one on the cops’ radar; her husband has also been involved in a number of legal issues in the past. Stevens departed the league in 2010 after the Buccaneers dropped his contract due to a marijuana possession arrest, according to YourTango. Stay tuned with us.
