On Saturday, an incident was going viral on social media since the video was recorded on a security camera. In a viral video, we can see that a man saved a child from a railway track when a train was departing on the railway station. According to the details, Mayur Shelkhe, who is working as a pointsman in the Central Railway station of Mumbai, risked his life to save a child from a train running over the train. The video was recorded at Vangani Railway Station, Mumbai. The incident happened around 5 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
The incident was recorded on the CCTV camera of the railway station where a child lost his balance while walking on the platform near the railway’s yellow line and fallen on the railway track. He was walking with her mother but his mother was trying to pull up his child. Suddenly, Mayur Shelkhe, who is Pointsman of the track saw the boy on the track and run towards him to save him. He risked his life to save the child and in the recorded video, we can see that train was moving towards him when he was coming to the child to save him. He quickly pulled up the child and himself also, before just a few seconds ago the train reached the platform no. 2.
The official footage of the incident was shared by the Ministry of Railway on their official Twitter account and it went viral all over the Internet in just a few hours. While they saluted the pointsman for giving their best ad for his courage to save the child. He did his work full of spirit and everyone thanks and raise his courage on the station.
Mayur Shelkhe said,” I was waiting for the train to give the signal, which was going towards Mumbai. I saw a woman and his child walking on the platform and suddenly, the child lost his balance and fallen on the track. I was standing around 60 meters away from them and saw a train coming towards them. I felt that we should show a red flag to stop the train but it couldn’t stop immediately and I decided to save the child at any cost. I ran on the railway track to save him and I scared at the moment because the train was too close to me but I put my all courage and I jumped on the platform just a few seconds ago”. For showing his courage to save the boy, everyone appreciated him saying You did good work, he added.
In this incident, the Minister of Railway, Piyush Goyal appreciated him for his work and also, talked to him personally for his courage. Later, he said that his work can not be matched with any prize but he inspired the generation from his work.
