The two and three-wheeler Indian manufacturing company, Bajaj Auto announced Niraj Bajaj as a new director of the company’s board on April 29, 2021. He is going to handle all the company’s responsibilities after replacing Rahul Bajaj. Niraj Bajaj is a well-known and settled businessman in India and also, carrying 33 years of experience in the industry. He joined the company Bajaj Auto in September 2006. According to the sources, Niraj Bajaj is a successor of Rahul Bajaj. Now, Rahul Bajaj was handling all the responsibilities of the company for the last 49 years. The Bajaj Company appointed Niraj Bajaj as Chairman Emeritus for the next five years which is going to begin from May 1, 2021.
The Bajaj Auto manufacturing company was found in 1926 by Jamnalal Bajaj in Mumbai. The company comes on the list of one of the oldest companies in India. Bajaj Auto Ltd, Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Bajaj Electricals, Mukund Ltd. Hercules Hoists Ltd, and Bajaj Hindustan Ltd. Along with this, the company has involved in many industries like home appliances, steel, iron, insurances, and traveling.
The company was handled by family members since it established. Kamalnayan Baja, who is the elder son of Jamanalal Bajaj controlled the company responsibilities in 1954. After him, Ramkrishna Baja got the responsibilities after the elder’s brother died in 1972. After Ramkrishna Bajaj, Rahul Bajaj hires the responsibility in 1965 and also, received CII President’s Award For Lifetime Achievement on April 27, 2017.
Who is Niraj Bajaj?
Niraj Bajaj was born on October 10, 1954, and has 35 years of professional career experience. He took his primary and secondary education from the school of Catherdral and John Connon. He took his education of B.COM from the Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. After his B.COM, he took his Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
After he completed his education, Niraj Bajaj joined Bajaj Auto on September 9, 2006, and he comes to the list of Promoter-Director of the Bajaj Group. Along with these qualities, Niraj Bajaj is also appointed as Board of Director in Bajaj Auto Ltd, Bajaj Allianz Life, and General Insurance Co Ltd, and stayed as a Chairman of the company, Bachhraj & Company, Jamnalal Sons, and in some other Bajaj Companies.
Niraj has also appointed Managing Director & Chairman of Mukand Limited and Bajaj Holdings & Investment Limited. He also worked as a President of the Indian Merchant’s Chamber, Indian Stainless Steel Development Association, and Alloy Steel Producer’s Association.
Before becoming an important part of the company, Niraj Bajaj represented the nation in the realm. Also, he played national table tennis for seven years from 1970 to 1977 and in the last four years, he serves as a captain. Niraj Bajaj received the All India Table Tennis Champion three times. With all of this, Niraj Bajaj was honored by some big awards of India like the Arjuna Award, Shiv Chhatrapati Award, Maharashtra’s highest Sport’s honor India’s highest sport’s honor, and the Gaurav Puraskar of Maharashtra.
Now, Niraj Bajaj is going to serve as a director of Bajaj Auto from May 1, 2021, and he will serve for the next five years in the company.
