Sometimes life throws bouncers at you, however, it is you who have to decide whether you want to dodge it or do you want to face it with full bravery and came out like a knight in shining armour. The 36-year old Sophie Morgan who is known as one of the acknowledged TV presenters of Britain is one such living example. Sophie Morgan accident is something that everyone is aware of, however, for those who do not know, at the young age of 18, Morgan encountered a deadly road accident that left her paralysed from the chest down. For many years, she had a hard time acknowledging the fact that she is disabled, however, unlike most people, she took it in a positive way, not that she had any other option. Recently, she appeared in the Channel 4 documentary and talked about how people around her used to think that her disability has completely ruined her life as well as her career after the accident. In the year 2003, when Morgan was 18, she encountered a tragic traffic accident that caused damage to her spinal cord, T6 Spinal cord injury, resulting in permanent paralysis from the chest down.

However, that did not hinder her from pursuing and chasing her happiness, but as a matter of fact, according to Morgan, the accident brought several positive changes in her life. Before the accident, Morgan wanted to study Law at Manchester University, however, following the accident, she came back to live with her parents in Brighton seaside and pursued Arts from the City College of Brighton & Hove. In 2004, Morgan took part in the television series, “Two Beyond Boundaries” and went on a journey to cross 200 miles across the Republic of Nicaragua along with 10 other disabled people from the Atlantic coast to its Pacific coast.

Later in the year 2008, 23-year old Morgan, now 36, took part in the BBC three reality TV modelling show”Britain’s missing Top model”. Though Morgan was not the winner of the show, she came second in the show and was also part of Stella McCartney’s Adidas campaign. Little by little, she made a special place in the hearts of the viewers by appearing in various shows including the Licence to Kill documentary in the year 2013 and in which she talked about a road accident like hers provoked by the young drivers.

Apart from this, she also appeared in the documentary named, “The World’s Worst Place to be Disabled”, and co-hosted Channel 4 television series, “Best Laid Plans” alongside Charlie Luxton. She also got the opportunity to be one of the presenters for sports coverage of the 2012 London Summer Paralympics, 2016 Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Paralympics for Channel 4. Meanwhile, she has been once again chosen by Channel 4 for doing the sports coverage of the 2020 Summer Paralympics. For many, Sophie Morgan accident can be a huge inspiration, especially for those who are afraid of changes.
