On 14th April 2021, the former cricketer of the Australian Team, Stuart MacGill was kidnapped from the streets of Sydney at around 8:00 PM. The former cricketer was mercilessly pulled into a car and was taken to an isolated area and following, the cricketer was attacked physically. The accuser then intimidated the cricketer by pointing a gun at him and was confined for quite some time and thereafter, he was discarded like a piece of trash. The whole incident left a terrible impression in MacGill’s mind. He was extremely scared that for a few days he did not even report the incident to the police.
After his fear subdued and he finally got the courage to report the whole incident to the cops. On 20th April 2021, a case was registered by the police regarding the same. Thereafter, the police started the investigation and later, suspected four men in connection to the case who then, was later arrested by the police of Australia. However, a shocking piece of news is that the police suspected an old man who is a close relative of MacGill.
It has been reported that on the day of MacGill’s kidnapping, the old man who is in his 40’s approached the cricketer and subsequently carried out the whole incident and what is more shocking is that the accused is said to be the brother of MacGill’s girlfriend. The name of MacGill’s girlfriend is Mario O’Meagher while Marino Sotiropoulos is the name of Mario’s brother. Marino is the owner of Aristotle’s eatery which is situated in Neutral Bay.
In the same restaurant, MacGill is working as the General Manager. The former leg-spin bowler, MacGill has played a total of 44 test matches and 3 One Day International. He has scored 349 matches in the test matches and has taken 208 wickets. His average bowling rate in the test matches was 29.02. The former Australian cricketer started playing for Australia cricket in 1998 and retired in the year 2008.
However, his career in the International cricket format was considerably dominated by the former Australian cricketer, Shane Warne. As per the source, the cops of Australia have arrested the main accused, Marino and the cops are interrogating him in order to find out the root cause behind the kidnapping. This incident has greatly impacted the cricketer, both mentally as well as physically and what is even more surprising is that a very close person’s family member is involved in the kidnapping of MacGill.
